Learning to do fast resets, ie scrapping and identifying things every 2-3 runs will mean you are getting two T70 rifts done in the time it would take you do do one T75/80 rift. Yes, your reasoning about scaling is correct. There has to be some other cause for your newfound vigor. EG, single-player vs multiplayer, GR vs "equivalent" torment, losing/requipping follower, or even just plain lag. Maybe a newly unlocked altar node? Some other stat change that was more significant than you realized?
